Quick Moab Trip

Made a quick Moab trip and met up with Dusty for 3 days of running trails.

 

Stayed at the Slick Rock Campground that did a great job of taking care of us, pool, hot tub, showers etc.  Close to the center of town.

 

 

After the 700 mile ride from Los Angeles it was nice to have a meal and cold beer with a good buddy.

 

Decided on a trip to Kayne Creek for a good jaunt.

Got some good photo's with lots of sand, water, rocks and great scenery.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Made it all the way to where the trail splits, only to see the Jeep side was a no go, and then a rock drop that we couldn't come back up on the Motorcycle side.  So we hiked about a mile up that side in MX boots only to find that we couldn't continue that direction, so we turned around and came back out the way we went in.

 

Was a great day, but we both killed our 100oz waters and were in a bit of a dehydrated state at the end of the day.  Decided to play it easy and be tourists on Saturday so we could challenge ourselves on Sunday again.

Saturday was mostly easy, ran down to check out Hole in the Rock, was where we would have come out the day before if the path was passable on the big ADV bikes.

 

I ran this trail many years ago on a 450, but forgot how difficult it was at the end.

 

 

So we stopped and checked it out, neat little tourist trap with some history

 

 

Then up to Arches to do some more Hiking in MX boots.

 

 

 

Stopped to explore a bit in between, including steel bender trail

 

 

 

 

Followed by a dip in the pool, some tasty BBQ and live blues.
