Triumph Tiger 800 XC (2012)

Suspension

I was getting into the more challenging off road terrain. I found with my larger size and increased speed the suspension was inadequate. Due to budget restraints I wasn't able to go for the replacement shock and custom rebuild on the forks. This was an entry level change which has proven to fit my needs and I am quite pleased with the return on investment. As the terrain increases in difficulty, my skills improve, my speed increases, and budget allows I will seek professional tuning.

Bike Accessories

I went with the 'tall' version which adds about 1.5". Quality of foam and cover is great. Gripper material is great for wear and not sliding. Foam is definitely extra firm and takes time (couple thousand miles) to break in. Very please with the purchase. Installation instructions/video wasn't accurate after talking with Seat Concepts. Not nearly as all day comfortable as a corbin but is great for offroad and can't beat the price.

Lighting & Electrical

Have had this on two different tigers and enjoy the extra bit of safety it gives especially in city riding. OEM plugs specified at order make this a super quick and easy install. For the tiger you take off the rear rack and install between taillight plug and main harness which takes about 5 minutes.

I have had many compliments over the years and recommendations.

It's only down fall is that you can mistakingly disable by holding either brake on startup for longer than 20-30 seconds which they cycles through the various options.

Exhaust

I actually have the LV one. Love the sound. Cut down the db insert a bit To increase the sound slightly. Was also able to get a spark arrestor from LV for trail riding. It has taken a few big hits over the year and now has some character.

Bike Accessories

Works good for me. I did almost lose in a rock field once even with loctite.

Tires Wheels Brakes

Only issue is the wear. I get 4000+ out of a rear and two rears to a front. Traction and handling is worth it.

Luggage & Racks

Use the tiger version with a givi trekker top case and rotopax. Lots of mounting points and no issues.

Bike Protection

My crash bars are well used unfortunately. I started with the oem's which worked pretty well until I clipped a burm on a tight trail with the radiator side plastic. After repairing the damage I decided I wanted better coverage. These bars have taken a beating and still fully functional. I do wish they hugged the body closer to prevent then catching on stuff. IE: the bike slides a bit when going down I have had them dig in a bit.

Handlebars & Controls

Very happy with the adjustability but the double adjustments can be a pain.

Suspension

At this point I am not able to give a full review. These were just installed, still testing, and dialing in. The kit itself is looks to be of good construction. The finish/appearance is very nice. The pumping rod is a smaller diameter than touratech and ohlins. This is also an open cartridge setup so the oil and air mix. The default valving on the setup is for mixed use but you can specify a different setup on order (I specified offroad.) Valving is adjustable by suspension shop. It is designed for use with the stock springs. I went with springs setup for my weight (240lbs.) So far the forks are a little stiff for my liking especially onroad. Riding 20-30 mph in an ORV park I haven't used the last 1/3 or travel as of yet. As time allows I may swap out to OEM springs, play with oil levels, and of course play with rebound/compression settings. For a fraction of the price of other options it is worth considering.

Suspension

A recent upgrade. On the tiger the remote preload adjuster is a must. I have been quite pleased with performance compared to stock with progressive spring which was a lot better than stock. Not impressed with the preload adjuster mount to OEM pannier mount, but I picked up a different mount.
