  1. Hello folks, old to street but new to dual sport. I have a DRZ400 and a BMW f800gs. Had dirtbikes as a teenager but went the way of street. Hope to meet new peeps and get in some Socal mountain and Desert rides.

  3. Well another 24hr in the books. I cant say this one was fun, even remotely fun, but Mother nature sometimes throws us a curve ball and we do the best we can. Team Heavyweights again took the top honers with a 5 lap lead on the only other team crazy enough to ride ADV bikes at a Dirt bike 24hr event. There are a ton of photos out there but these were the ones I had readily available to share.

  4. There's a part of us as we grow older and wiser that longs for simplicity, ease, and basic functionality. My "large" adv bike is a used DR650 that I bought from a fellow going through a divorce(it was for sale right next to a tanning bed. I passed on that!). These big thumpers, including the BMWs, are fun and easy to ride and repair. They'll haul you around the world. I consider the KLR and DRs to be the plain vanilla Ford F150s of adv bikes. These basic affordable bikes remind me of the thrill I got the first time I rode a motorcycle in 1969. For me, adventure riding is about slowing down, decompressing, stopping for coffee, meeting people, wandering... I'm not slamming expensive high-end bikes but for me boring is fine!

  5. I would love to try this on my 1200 GSA! We need a BMW team. I bet we can expect a truck load of haters.
