  1. I'm totally a fan of using the right protection. That said, I recently did a barrel roll with my midfoot while wearing Forma's Adventure Boots. Zero breaks occurred; however, I sprained my foot so hard I haven't been able to put any pressure down for a few days now. Could this have been avoided with a different pair of boots?

  2. 2016 1190r with a serious overheating problem. If I keep up speed it’s never an issue. Technical trails in the summer heat have cause a severe fuel geyser. Did a coolant flush and the problem started right after. Assumed air bubble but I have now flushed approximately 12 times including 5 times at a dealership. Radiator has been pressure tested no leaks. Gas tank vents. Anyone have any suggestions? Called Ktm and they said they have never heard of a bike having a fuel geyser, I have personally seen it on a 2014 1190.

  3. Fan and temp switch function normally? Can you install a manual fan switch as well as temp control switch? Airflow obstruction from an aftermarket part? Tried different coolant like engine ice?(although this is proba boy a band aid and actual problem needs to be found) Possible bad head gasket or tune problem generating too much heat? Hope something helps, I haven't heard of too many problems with these bikes for heat.

  4. Yeah what @Bryan Bosch said. I injured my achilles wearing the BMW Rallye 3 boots (Forma Predator) and went to Gaerne SG12 and now A-stars Tech 10. You really need the max protection with these big bikes and Forma's adv boot is one I'd stay away from.

  5. This thread makes me feel like a hoarder. I have the Hennessy for bike camping if needed vs the tent , a regular eno type hammock w/o bug screen for the van and a pair of Eno Hanging chairs also for the van. Ps not my boat

  6. Thanks! We can't to wait to do another ride in the California Desert. We rode Death Valley three weeks ago and had a great time.

  7. Just mounted an e-805 and don't like the look or how the tread lays out for what would be lean angles on pavement. ? Maybe it's nothing. Really interested in off pavement traction. I'll be real close to Slaven's next month and will see what he has for Motoz.

  8. You are actually lucky!. I have TWO FRIENDS WHO BOTH BROKE ANKLES WITH FORMA BOOTS!!! They are no better than sneakers!!! I always buy hinged boots like Alpine Star or Sidi, multiple crashes (some with the bikes landing on my foot and being pinned under) and zero issues! Can walk and even hike with Sidi Adventure boots too.

  9. I think ground clearance and suspension are the big factors. I consider the Multi and the Versys ADV bikes. 17" wheels are not great, but they aren't a major limiting factor IMO. I've raced Supermoto against Jeremy McGrath and Jeff Ward and those guys could go faster on dirt with 17" slicks than I ever could on brand new knobbys!

  10. Thank you for the feedback! I'd be more than happy to squeak or walk uncomfortably than not walk at all. I'll look for the above mentioned boots before my next excursion. It just wasn't worth the risk for someone as new to dirt as myself. That one lil blip was a total show-stopper and I felt great otherwise.

  12. I went straight to the AStars Tech7. I ride a big heavy bike and going off road I wanted big protection. I have to say that they are super comfy as well! One dab of the foot off road onto a small rock could ruin your day with a soft boot. I don't walk much in them and when I do I get lots of looks because people can usually hear me squeaking! RPM

  13. Had an issue while in Sidi Adventures last year. Moved to Sidi Crossfire2's for most of my riding and love the protection. Unfortunately, comfort/walking vs protection is a balance in boots. My adventure boots have become my pure road boot.

  14. Yes. The forma is a very comfy, but very flexible. I'd look at something like the Alpinestars Toucan ADV boot. Or, step into the off-road realm of boots like the Gaerne SG12, Sidi Crossfire, or TXC Comp Evo (what I wear). But, keep in mind that while full offroad or mx boots offer tons of protection, they aren't as good for walking, should that be something that you do much of on rides. But, I'd rather walk a little goofy or carry a pair of slip on shoes vs. have an injury like yours. I had the Formas, but did sell them b/c I felt they didn't offer up the protection that I really wanted when I switch to a KTM 690 Enduro R. Foot injuries suck b/c it's a complex part of your body that carries all our weight.

  15. It depends on the chick! I get excited about bikes and cars alike.... especially when it's obvious that the rider/driver has put effort into their vehicle. I realize I'm also part of a very small percentage of women who feel that way. I was also accused of having a midlife crisis when I bought my Triumph Tiger even though I had been riding street 8 years prior. It's like the people who are afraid of trying something new want to scoff at those that do...
