Best tires out there. Everyone would run these 100% if the time if they were cheaper and lasted longer.

Traction is perfect offroad. But the front profile is too flat on an 1190 R, and the rear wears out way to fast.

Out of all the tires available for this new water cooler GS, the TKC80 is the go to tire for off-road riding. Unfortunately I only got about 4 off-road trips out of them before replacement, my trips range from 300-400miles. The knobs start to come apart and they wore down significantly, but to give them some credit that was mostly gravel roads and rocky trails. Wish they were alittle more durable. Still i'll mount them over and over again until something better comes out!

Edit: They are loud!!

For me there is NO compromise, performance and safety first. Saving money for longevity will be worth noting once u hit the ditch. With tires you can't have it both ways........

What do you say?  The TKC-80 is basically the gold standard adventure bike tire by which all others are measured.  Kind of like Macallan 12 year old single malt scotch :)

I can't even count how many of these I've bought over the years but it's a lot.  I had the opportunity to test a set for MOA's "ON" magazine a few years ago (I know, "free tires!") in Baja.  I usually run the 21" tire up front when I'm off road but they wanted me to rate the 19" so I put that on my OEM rim and I was amazed that I almost could not notice I had switched to a smaller front tire given how good the traction is.

I'm primarily a dirt rider and the TKC-80 has never let me down.  Of the few times I have ridden twisties on pavement, the on-road traction is also incredible for a knobby tire.

I've also run other tires (mostly rear) but it's always obvious what I'm trading off vs. the TKC-80.

Rear tire mileage for me is roughly 3,200 miles.  Others have reported more; others less.

Not a budget tire but also not horribly expensive.
