My experience with gloves in the ADV world started with the BMW Rallye Pro glove then onto the Klim Dakar, Element and Mojave gloves as well as the ICON Raiden Arakis gloves.  This set of gloves, the Mickey glove from Racer Gloves USA, is quite a step up in fit and finish from what I'm used to.

Product Overview

The Mickey glove is a gauntlet style or short cuff motorcycle glove.  They don't seem to be marketed to the ADV world and appear on their Austrian mfg site as a "racing glove."  I was told they are popular with the SuperMoto racers.  What they seem to offer is some very premium leather along with fantastic protection from these sliders on the knuckles and palm area (scaphoid and pisiform protection) made from what is known in the industry as "Super Fabric."  The palm area is actually made from a synthetic leather product known in the industry as Clarino brand material. There is a silicone diamond pattern on the fingers along with their company name ("Racer") that give a fine touch as well as being smartphone friendly.  There are also leather covered protectors on the backs of each finger segment.  They retail for $115.99 which is not the most I've ever spent on a motorcycle glove (see Klim Element long at $225).  The closest thing I've seen to them would be the Klim Element short glove, which is waterproof but does not have the same level of palm protection as the Mickey glove and is quite a bit more expensive ($169).

Fit

The site does claim this glove is true-to-size and while may seem hard at first to get on at the opening, they are a good fit once on.  I'd say they are a bit smaller than true-to-size so keep that in mind.  I wear XXL and they are a bit tricky to get on.  However, they are right that once they are on, the fit is great!  Being natural leather, there is a bit of a breaking in period and I found they fit even better after each use.

Finish

The leather is really top quality.  It looks nice and smells even better.  The stitching is very professional and there are no stray threads here or there.  My only complaint are these two rather large tags that announce the name brands of some of the materials (Teramid and Super Fabric) but I guess those are a requirement and easily taken off by the user if you're careful enough.  The care tag inside the glove is rather large too and one should probably remove that as well or tuck it in so it doesn't whip in the wind.

Performance

Thankfully I haven't gone down on the bike to see how these really perform but in terms of grip, comfort and venting, I can say the do very well.  I notice the venting more when my hand is up off the grip because my guards block a lot of the air flow, but one can feel the air flow in mostly through the sides of the fingers.  I did manage to log into my smartphone and check a few messages without having to take a glove off, which is nice.

Bottom Line

I think the biggest win here for me is that I'm trading up in protection yet at the same time not losing too much "lever feel" that one typically has with motocross or other lightweight adventure gloves.  The quality really shows up and at this price I feel it's more than a good value especially vs. BMW Rallye Pro glove at $95.  Being in SoCal, I see this as a useful glove in all but the coldest and/or wettest months.  One feature that would be nice to see is a squeegee type strip of rubber along the left index finger for wiping one's visor.

Shout out to Lee Block and Racer Gloves USA. I bought a set of the "Mickey Gloves" at the June Touratech Rally, for dual sport riding. I chose that model because it had armor on the palm and knuckles, and because it cinched around the wrist firmly so the glove wouldn't creep on the grips. The glove is designed with a natural curl so it fits the grips and doesn't bunch up on the palm.

As far as fit goes, I have fat hands, but short fingers. I chose the Medium size because the fingers were shorter, even though slipping them over my fist was a bit tight at first but they loosened up after a few hours. I found I could easily operate the touch screen on my Garmin Monterra wearing these gloves, but for icons that were very small I had to remove them to make a screen command. An application of screen juice on the tips of the fingers will solve that problem.

I wore these gloves on a recent ID BDR trip. At the end of the journey my hands were blister-free. Usually on a long ride I get blisters and calluses, but not with these gloves. I also wore them on some hard trail rides on the KTM, busting thru the branches with my knuckles. They worked as advertised - that armor works! They exceeded my expectations.

I don't like spending $117 for a pair of gloves, but these were worth every penny, and more. Much more.

Protective but a bit stiff. Nice ventilation.

The rubber/plastic upper closure (the one with the web address on it in the above pic) should be sewn *above* the gauntlet leather, as the velcro on it can rub your hand. Apart from that, nice gloves.
