Really like these bags. Not so large. Easy to mount to rack. Straps work well to tighten up the contents.

Work better on the 690 than on the 990 in my opinion.  Durable, easy to open and close, dry bag is included.

I've used many different types of soft bags and there are probably way too many out there nowadays given the size of the market but I was very honored to receive this set of soft bags from Wolfman Luggage, a true pioneer in the industry.  I had their prior version of the Rocky Mountain bags and then got this upgrade.  I think the main improvements were in the liner bags, some additional tie down points and slightly larger capacity.

I've seen other bag styles that completely come detached from the pannier rack and that seems cool but when your inner bag simply lifts right out, it's something that seems kind of unnecessary to me.

I'm sure I've used these bags more than 98% of riders out there and they've been all over the place from California to Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, Baja, Sonora, Chihuahua, Sinaloa, etc...  Off road in extreme conditions and all types of weather.  Multiple falls with zero failures.  Many of my more hardcore riding friends have these Rocky Mountain bags and swear by them.

There are other bags with lots of attachment points and folding doo-dads but that all seems kind of unnecessary fluff really.  I tend to leave my straps untethered too and they flap around and annoy my riding mates lol! I really don't care but that's something you can tie down if you like.  I'm lazy like that.
