Gravelscout
Hi all, my name is Robert, usually shortened to Rob. Of course I'm a motorcycle addict, otherwise i wouldn't be here. I am currently riding a BMW R1100GS (about 20k km or 12k miles a year) but after two years of offroad training (the first BMW enduropark is only one hour away) i realise that bike isn't my perfect fit, so i will continue to ride my big cow, but saving for a new one. The dream would be a original HPN, i spoke to the 2 elderly men who are running that exclusive show since mid '70 a few weeks ago, you have to wait three years to get a bike from their garage.. So I am considering other options, but the goal is an 2 ventile rallye-ish BMW with a strenghtened frame. I simply like the optic of the boxer engine, rallye bikes, paired with the power that comes with it, 70ps offroad and a low center of gravitiy, i think thats a great combination not everyone rides. Of course I know that BMW flattwins are not the first choice when it comes to enduro riding, but i think there comes a bit style/flair with it. Plus my uncle is a BMW Mechanic so that is also worth something. Thank you XLAdv for building this, i think its amazing bringing so much people 2gether, a real community is what is needed. Maybe in the future you can split the forum to different countries so you can access more people? Not every German is able to (or wants to) speak english, but they are still in need of this. I love ur IG channel! If anyone in this forum is ever in Germany (or at the BMW Motorrad Days in Garmisch Patenkirchen in July) give me a call, I am always looking for company to explore new roads with on and offroad. My boss is always telling me, i have a ghetto-kind-a-english (i don't know what he means by that), so please forgive me, it's not my foreign language, but I'll try my best! Best, Rob
Administrators Eric Hall Posted April 21, 2017 Administrators My Rides (3) Report Share Posted April 21, 2017 Welcome, Rob and thank you for posting up that introduction. I think your English is very good XLADV can most certainly be for riders all over the world if they want it to be. You're welcome to start a thread here for German speakers if you like. I love the HPN bikes too, especially these:
