High Sierra 2017

Recommended Posts

Awesome turn out so far and happy to be back as we missed last year. Broke in the R1100 GS on this ride and it performed Amazing. Yup, Kenda Big Blocks were a great match for the trails. Aired down to 28psi (thank you XLADV from a previous post). Here are some pics of our first day. We rode Lake Crowley which is nice loop that is close to Camp that Jason showed Dennis, Steve and I. Friend me on Rever@motochefarwi

After that we headed to Bald Mountain. I took mostly Video so I have limited pics.

It is so nice to ride with good friends that I've ridden with before at other Rallys. All were so good and helped me out as I was still getting used to "Oden". Actually Jason named my bike "Digger!" Name came from all the times that my rear wheel would dig in to the sand. I gotta remember that throttle.

Little pit stop at June Brewer and off we headed up to Th Log cabin. Awesome test of the beast. Some light technical sections, choose you line well. Multiple switch backs and inclines. The view is amazing at 9667ft. Get ready for a very long steep decent. Low gear and save your brakes. Thank you Jimmy Lewis, you would be proud! That's all for now, more smiles and adventure coming up!

We beat last year's number and raised about $4620.30 for Lost for a Reason.org!

I hope to get the professional shots Justin took up there in the next few days.

We had a rider, Jeff C, go down on Friday with the Bakersfield crew.  He's in Bakersfield at Kern Medical Center now.  He won't need surgery and will most likely be transferred to another facility today for rehab.  Keith from Bakerfield is headed to Independence now to pick up his bike.  Word is he fractured his pelvis and some ribs after going over the edge of a corner and down a hill of some kind.

Wishing Jeff C a speedy recovery. Keep us updated and hope he gets well soon. Sounds like he was with a good crew that he was riding with and hope he had some good help during the accident. I was not aware of the incident until the next morning at the riders meet up.

252 miles of slab to get to the event is not too bad.  Gotta love living in California because there is so much diversity from coastal riding, central, low desert, high desert and mountain passes.  Riding Big Bikes to these events is a joy because you can go the distance and then air down and get dirty.  Some good clips of our adventure to the High Sierra's 2017 event.  Make every mile count and make it your own adventure.   Ride your own ride! Part one shared with my best friend.  Great to have a support vehicle to carry all the gear! As always I took too much video footage  so I need to break it down to a few vids. Enjoy!

Hey @motochefarwi would you mind uploading your vid to YouTube or Vimeo and then replacing that mov file with a link?  It's like 300 mb and I doubt many will download it.  Thx
