Administrators Bryan Bosch Posted March 2, 2015 Administrators My Ride Report Share Posted March 2, 2015 My motorcycle policy is up for renewal and I'd like to shop a bit. Who are you using that has treated you well, has good service, and a great price to match? Thanks in advance for your help!
Administrators Eric Hall Posted March 2, 2015 Administrators My Rides (3) Report Share Posted March 2, 2015 I'm not that thrilled with the choices out there but I have GEICO and know that Progressive is really bit on motorcycle insurance as well. I know there are some smaller ones, but don't know any off hand.
Administrators Bryan Bosch Posted March 3, 2015 Author Administrators My Ride Report Share Posted March 3, 2015 I have Progressive right now. They seemed to have good pricing, but no idea on service as gladly, I've never needed them. But, I always shop on annual renewals.
Nate J. Posted March 3, 2015 My Rides (2) Report Share Posted March 3, 2015 If you are a veteran, or have a veteran in the family Geico and Progressive have never been able to even come close to USAA for me.
Administrators Bryan Bosch Posted March 3, 2015 Author Administrators My Ride Report Share Posted March 3, 2015 You know, I've heard that before. My uncle is retired Mil. Is that close enough?
zodillyicous Posted March 3, 2015 My Rides (2) Report Share Posted March 3, 2015 Allstate has been the best option for me and the wife.
Administrators Bryan Bosch Posted March 3, 2015 Author Administrators My Ride Report Share Posted March 3, 2015 I did an online quote from eSurance yesterday and they're looking pretty good price-wise. They are an Allstate company, so I'd imagine that the service is good enough. My wife's dad is retired mil, so we're going to try to motivate him to get some sort of token policy with them so that we can come on board. I've heard great things about USAA, so I'd like to make something there happen. We've had our auto through Costco Ameriprise for years, but for some reason, they don't do motorcycle. Hawk42
I have Geico, $ 400 for my '14 Tiger Explorer, They always seem to send the bill on time. Ya never know until who is good until you need to make a claim.
Administrators Eric Hall Posted March 4, 2015 Administrators My Rides (3) Report Share Posted March 4, 2015 I have USAA for my car and house but they don't write motorcycle insurance (for me anyways).
Administrators Bryan Bosch Posted March 4, 2015 Author Administrators My Ride Report Share Posted March 4, 2015 Boy, uninsured in FL doubles the bill! I love paying for the irresponsible. But, I digress.
Nate J. Posted March 5, 2015 My Rides (2) Report Share Posted March 5, 2015 Bryan, I believe an uncle may be enough, but I'm not sure. Wouldn't hurt to ask. Eric - Really!? I've been ensuring MC's with USAA since... '92. Have 3 insured with them right now. Odd.
Administrators Bryan Bosch Posted April 8, 2015 Author Administrators My Ride Report Share Posted April 8, 2015 I ended up using an insurance broker and got a nice deal today. The Insurer is out of the Midwest called Foremost. They are a Farmers Ins. company, so solidly backed. I was able to save a nice chunk over Progressive with much better uninsured motorist coverage, a big deal in Florida. The premium was actually much less than expect, so I bumped up coverage a bit. I guess I've been paying for those Flo commercials... Sucker!
Jason R Posted April 8, 2015 My Ride Report Share Posted April 8, 2015 Gieco here. Two bikes and two quads on them. Last time I checked, Price was better than USAA for me.
Administrators Bryan Bosch Posted April 8, 2015 Author Administrators My Ride Report Share Posted April 8, 2015 My new policy is about 60% the cost of Progessive w/ better coverage. I had Geico when I first bought the bike, but Progressive beat them on renewal. I'm not loyal to these guys. I'll switch annually if the price is better, assuming equal/better coverage and financially secure company. Seems to me that a good broker is the way to go. I didn't have the time to get quotes from that many vendors.
[email protected]
I use to have Progressive Insurance through USAA, until this happened: http://www.dailydot.com/news/progressive-insurance-matt-fisher-losing-customers/ I had USAA cancel that Progrssive policy and they set me up with Foremost Insurance Co. Never looked back. I detest such betrayals.

JohnHill
I personally like to go with multiple quotes while going for a better option on insurance providers. Mostly look between Dairyland insurance, Farmers, Direct Insurance Network and Progressive. I would also like to share an experience of one of my friend encountered with an insurance claim for his bike. My friend, Donald Lawrence, got lucky with his motorcycle insurance last year, he encountered with an accident, not his fault though. All the damage cost was covered under his motorcycle insurance Boca Raton. Got all his damage repaired done very accurately within less time without much hassle.
