Wheel Straightening

Recommended Posts

Repairing it is a decision only you can make.  If you ever saw the front wheel I use for sketchy terrain that I leave more hard care tires on, you wouldn't ride my 950.  I however rode on it all the way to Colorado and back to Ohio with 7 or 8 smilies and a crack.

Recently I tried to make a pothole larger with my good wheelset.  I was able to heat it up a little and put it in a press and push the offending outward flare of the side.  In turn, it pushed the "vertical" dent out of the rim.  I personally can't afford to replace a rim every time it gets a bump in it.  If you are trying to run tubeless, then you may need to replace it or put a tube in it.
