Mike Palmer
Been in Vegas 17 years after relocating from Alaska. Been riding for 50 years or so; mainly on road with some motocross racing mixed in when I was a kid. Picked up a Ducati Multistrada 950 and road from Vegas to Alaska, Top of the World Highway to Dawson City in the Yukon, up the Dempster a bit and back home to Vegas June of 2018. Had a blast out running all the bear! Been dreaming about the LAB2V ride ever since I was a kid reading about the "Barstow to Vegas Race" in Cycle Magazine! Decided to throw caution and good sense to the wind and signed up for the 2019 running using my Duc. Now I'm scrambling to get geared up and prepared. Hopefully I'll find some folks I can tag along with during the ride as I've never used a roll chart and my GPS is limited to on road routing. Really looking forward to the ADV bike routing this year. Numbercruncher
I'd love a new Multistrada 950 myself. Do you have any pics from that ride. I'm sure many of us would love to see them. NC

Administrators Eric Hall Posted August 4, 2019 Administrators My Rides (3) Report Share Posted August 4, 2019 Welcome! I'm trying to put together a more tame adventure route for LAB2V this year so hopefully you'll like it!
Dino Trefiletti
As long as you can load that days tracks to your GPS you’ll be fine. I wouldn’t worry too much about the roll chart on the Adv route but you should know how to use it. Are you riding the Duc to the start or trailering it? Loading the tracks to the GPS is a mystery to me. I use a Garmin Zumo 350 hopefully all will be well. Maybe I should bring a map and compass just in case. ? I’ll be riding the Duc from Vegas to Palmdale. Hopefully the TKC80’s will not wear too badly; used Heidenau K60 scouts on my Alaska trip and was very happy with them. But don’t believe they would do well in the sand. Edited August 4, 2019 by Mike Palmer
