Administrators Eric Hall Posted August 28, 2020 Administrators My Rides (3) Report Share Posted August 28, 2020 Having a fantastic time and just exhausted from all the fun each day. We did Glacier NP yesterday and have two days left.Bike is doing very well! Just an annoying rear tpms issue but I can get that looked at later. Bike handles really well off road and I haven’t even adjusted the suspension yet. We haven’t done a lot of dirt anyways.
Administrators Eric Hall Posted September 2, 2020 Administrators My Rides (3) Report Share Posted September 2, 2020 Made it back the other day. What an amazing trip! I am a dirt guy and while we only did maybe 80 miles of dirt (~2400 in all for me), the real highlight for me has to be the fine people I got to spend it with. This was the kind of trip where you simply got the tracks and took your time. There were maybe 3-4 separate groups and each one took its own pace and even did some dirt side trips. I was mostly with the lead group we called "The Blue Angels." We rode hard and fast and sadly (or funny?) we tripped some highway patrol that ended up stopping some of the trailing riders and scolding them for "bad passing." I may have been the culprit but this guy was lolligagging at 70mph in a 75 with a truck on his ass. I finally got a chance to pass and he holds his left hand out his window as if to say "&%$#@! are you passing me?!" I just rolled my eyes and pulled back into the lane a bit sooner that I would have otherwise as if to respond to him "you're slow as f*ck and we're tired of it." I'm sure he's the one who called 911. My bad! Jenny Lake was amazing. A guy we met later said he saw a bear there. Nice group shot. Dave was begged into taking his shirt off. I feel like some kind of yeti stalker in the background there On our second to last day we had Jeff "Bandit" Martin go down on his brand new T700. I guess he came around a corner a bit hot on some dirt and went into a ditch. We got him an ambulance and met him at the hospital. They let him go later that night and he flew home the next day but like me about 5 months ago, he broke two ribs and has some bruising on his hip. Jeff is missing his right arm and was of course making arm jokes with the ambulance crew the whole time. Glad to hear he's okay even though in a lot of pain. The last day was cold! 31 degrees with ice on everything. This was at Lolo Hot Springs. Great place to soak! I have a video coming but have a lot of High Sierra stuff I'm doing today.
