Shasta ADV Campout and group rides

Location: Shasta Chappie OHV Park, Redding California

Date: ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­13-15 May 2022

Check in opens: 4pm Friday

Cost: $85 per-entrant until 1 Feb then $105 thereafter (includes camping, GPS tracks, and 1 meal ticket)

Camp Details:

  • Plan to be self-sufficient in both shelter and food 
  • Food trucks will be available both evenings
  • Campsites along Sacramento River have fire ring and tables

Rides:

  • Self guided routes based on experience level and comfort with off-road riding. Riders will need a navigational device capable of using .GPX files that will be sent out prior to the event or can be transferred Friday evening via Garmin basecamp. 
  • routes can exceed 200 miles in length, will have waypointed gas stations, points of interest, and optional extended loops.

  2. Saturday Morning Rides
    1. The Perfect Balance
      1. Starting with a leisurely put along Shasta Lake this route provides a relaxing memorable ride for all experience levels. Climbing over the hills and back down to Trinity Lake, riders will tour through the historic town of Weaverville before riding down the famous Buckhorn summit and along Whiskeytown lake.
      2. 50/50 pavement/dirt
    2. Shore to Sky
      1. Dirt roads that put an emphasis on the thrill of the ride accompanied with breath taking views, dramatic changes in elevation, and thrill of riding where few adventures have yet to discover. Shore to Sky route will take the rider from the water’s edge to the top of the highest ridges in Shasta County and back in a breath-taking experience that is sure to leave a lasting impression.
      2. Mostly dirt
    3. Randy’s Ride  
      1. Adrenaline fueled tire burner of twisting pavement through the north state’s most pristine wilderness. The base route takes you past four lakes, across two dams, along the Sacramento and trinity rivers, views of Mt. Shasta Mt. Lassen and the Trinity Alps.

  4. Sunday morning

    2. Optional Sunday “advanced dirt” ride
      1. Husky Rick’s Sunday Stroll
        1. Didn’t get enough Saturday? Have time for a short ride before making the long trek back to civilization? Rick Pickens one of late members memorial stands on hang glider hill above the OHV park.  This dual sport trail loop pays homage to him and all the early RDR hard chargers. Advanced adventure trail ride – 890 and smaller bikes recommended
