Jason R Posted April 30, 2015 My Ride Report Share Posted April 30, 2015 Hey All, Looking for suggestions for a removable wheel chock system for an aluminum trailer. I need it to be removable easily so the trailer can still carry the Sportsman 700. Any suggestions? Want to carry a F800GSA and F650. Thanks Jason
Administrators Bryan Bosch Posted May 1, 2015 Administrators My Ride Report Share Posted May 1, 2015 Don't own one, but.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/BIKE-PRO-Motorcycle-Wheel-Chock-Black-Removable-Chocks-/231201568165 The quick release feature allows you to remove the chock from the mounting plate enabling you to utilize your floor for other purposes. They have killer ebay feedback, so if you buy, at least they can be trusted.
Jason R Posted May 1, 2015 Author My Ride Report Share Posted May 1, 2015 Looks good and the price is right. I am hoping to get both my bikes on this trailer and pull it with my VW Jetta TDI out of the desert heat this summer. I can always use the truck, but 12.5 mph hurts. werx Posted May 7, 2015 My Ride Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 Take a look at Truck Boss products. My bike rode back from Mexico on a really sweat set-up that the guy uses for motorcycles and snow mobiles.
Jason R Posted May 7, 2015 Author My Ride Report Share Posted May 7, 2015 The truck boss stuff is cool. Bit over $2k to put on my F350. I like the drawer part. That would be cool to have too.
NavyNuke
I used these inside my Astro Van back in the day http://www.bikebandit.com/manuals-tools/motorcycle-tools/motorcycle-stands/pingel-removable-wheel-chocks?b=9566&utm_source=feed&utm_medium=merchantfeed&utm_campaign=pla&kpid=9566&gclid=Cj0KEQjwmqyqBRC7zKnO_f6iodcBEiQA9T996GU42P-ydypiID7PHNfGKK7SjmKkLwITxwhv0yP9lj4aAjf48P8HAQ worked well, and you do get what you pay for many times, so read lots of current reviews before you buy.
Administrators Bryan Bosch Posted May 8, 2015 Administrators My Ride Report Share Posted May 8, 2015 Yep... Nothing like rickety crap holding your baby at 70 mph! Go for the good stuff here. 👍 I couldn't find it, but there used to be a wheel chock that didn't need to be bolted down. The chock sat on a glued on rubber pad that has full width "teeth" that are canted toward the front of the chock. When you tie the bike down from the handlebars, the straps are oriented slightly forward. The downward force and the teeth don't allow the chock to slide. We used them for our dirtbikes inside an enclosed trailer and they worked great. Crap, I just remember the name! EZ Chock
