RogersW Posted August 11, 2015 My Rides (2) Report Share Posted August 11, 2015 (edited) So I ordered the Wolfman Rocky Mountain Saddle Bags yesterday and I haven't had the rack on since the showroom floor. Now that they're installed again, I realize they won't work with the bags.. [IMG] My question is, I don't have any metal work experience, can I just have someone weld up some pieces to complete the rectangular shape? Is this metal workable? I'm tight on cash and buying a new rack system won't fly with the wife right now. That curve shape isn't going to work as a mounting point. What I was thinking is have someone weld up some pieces make it a even surface to mount the bag on. If I do that, guess I can never use hard cases. Any other suggestions? Maybe put some type of safety kit between the wolfman bag and that space? Edited August 12, 2015 by Blackhawkx
Administrators Eric Hall Posted August 11, 2015 Administrators My Rides (3) Report Share Posted August 11, 2015 That sucks! Does Wolfman's site indicate they will or won't work with your racks? They are usually good at providing a fitment guide. As for welding, I'm sure a good welder can make something to spec, but it does suck a bit that you have to do that. RogersW Posted August 12, 2015 Author My Rides (2) Report Share Posted August 12, 2015 Haven't received my Wolfman bags yet, they're on back order. I did find these pictures on advrider. This guy actually mounted them and doesn't have any problem with the angle.

Jafix
I was looking at picking these up at some point for my GSA as well. Probably add the altrider heatshield but I'm interested in seeing how well they work out for you.
