Pants as they afford me protection from the elements and have a Water proof and Cold weather proctection to wear year round. For the Budget minded ADV Rider this is the perfect combo. I have used these all winter here is Mississippi which has been a very wet and Cold winter. No problem with a good base layer and mid layer. Well worth the money and does the job.
