  1. This ride didn't quite work out the way we planned, but we had a hell of a ride anyway. We traveled in 8 states – in order of travel: California, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Wyoming, and Utah. We visited Hell's Canyon, the St. Joe River Scenic Byway, the Big Hole Battlefield, the ghost town of Bannack, Montana, Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Tetons, The Golden Spike National Historic Site, and we rode the old transcontinental rail bed west of Promontory Point. All together we rode about 150 miles of dirt roads in spite of being blocked from the Magruder Corridor and the Lolo Motorway by forest fires in Idaho. CLICK HERE to read my ride report.

  2. I had SUCH a great time at this event. I'd recommend you try to make it down there next year for part of the race. I think we'll do a big bike associated ride where we follow the course, meet the racers, get to see them on the course and see some cool sights along the way. Working w/Lawrence Hacking on that. Had a really great ride back too on some dirt. I did Compadre trail and it is MUCH more torn up than ever before. LOTS more sand. So basically it was a LOT more fun Check out my video!

  3. Hey everyone, im new to the adventure riding group. Just got a Triumph Tiger 800 cx and im ready to do some on road/off road trips. I've been maping out routes already. Already had my first issue with the electrical system. My front turn signal light went out and it's almost impossible to get a replacement. I've been looking at getting the LED lights to replace it with. Lots of forums out there for this. Other than that, been riding just a little, because a soon as I got the bike the weather has been ridiculous. Crazy downpours nonstop. Oh well, I'll get out there one way or another. If anyone has any good trails to ride, or if they are going for a ride, i'm in virginia, so just give me a holler. I'll post some pics soon of my new, first ever, bike

  5. I was fortunate to meet Tolga Basol of Ride Must Go On last year. He is riding his KTM 1190 R around the world and had just completed Istanbul to Magadan. He had a friend, Caglar, join him and the two of them stayed at my place a few days then went on to Joshua Tree, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, etc... up to Vancouver to get his 1190 R he had shipped over from Russia. He was riding a borrowed 640 that Warped Rotor now owns We met back up in Death Valley in December and he stayed with me a few months as he sorted out some mechanical stuff, his documentary projects, etc... He finally just released his latest "Episode 2" that includes his time here in the US. https://youtu.be/TYXbnj5OJXk Tolga is in Costa Rica now staying w/Chris White and I'm sure enjoying the jungle trails. He will continue south into South America and then eventually hop over to Africa and continue on up and back to Turkey. check it out!
