  1. I recently moved from beautiful BC, Canada back to my home state NY after an 18 year leave. Adjusting has been weird living in the USA no less living on LI...FLAT. I traded my '13 F800GS in for a '15 1200GSW and loving every bit of this new machine. Have over 1300 miles on her after 3 weeks of ownership. Got my Pro settings added after my 600 mile service and HOLY there is a big difference in the riding modes. Took her off road, really easy off road at the TT rally a week or so back. She did great. I now have a full set of Jesse Luggage and AltRider protection. She looks great, is protected and now all I need to do is head off of LI and find places where people do not go. I have been riding my whole life but on the road since 2008. Too many bikes I have been through before I found the GS family in 2010. "10 F650GS my intro, '13 F800 step up and crazy good off road and now my '15 1200 because I have a passenger and although she will share in my ADV world I will continue to do solo long distance trips like I hve in the past. So, that's it. Looking forward to this forum and reading as well as sharing stories.

  2. Figured that I could get a least some riding in before the next summer rain storm. Beautiful Friday night in central FL. Hope you guys have a great weekend. 👍

  3. Hi Bryan, Yes, this time of the year in central FL is "ride when you can not when you want" due to the sudden thunderstorms. Last Sunday I went for a ride very early in the morning, in the Odessa area and came across a stranded rider on 54 due to a broken shifter. Luckily I had tools with me and was able to fix his bike after working on it for 35 minutes - I made a new friend - It was a good Sunday morning ride.

  4. Cool spot here! I dig the passion you all have here. I'm Tim and live in So Cal ... I just returned from 2 months adventuring all over Alaska and the Yukon after driving from So Cal to Alaska. I picked up my wife in Fairbanks and we explored all over in the dirt and ran across lots of ADV riders. I chatted with most and they all wanted to know about our truck/camper setup so while they looked at my rig I took in all the sights of their motos. Within 2 days of being home I bought a new fully loaded GS 1200 Adventure moto and I've been riding daily since. I also ride a KTM 450 EXC in Baja, but the GS is an amazing machine compared to anything else. I am now a believer. I've been exploring Baja for 40+ years and know all the back roads, single track and such, but going north to Alaska and the Yukon was on my bucket list and it was an amazing trip. I can't make it to join your group on the upcoming trip outside of Bishop because I am heading out of town on another trip, but I look forward to meeting you guys in person sooner than later. Tim
