NavyNuke
Heading to Taste of Dakar again and giving in that I need to get a new sleeping bag. The synthetic bag I bought 9 years ago no longer has its 15 degree rating that it initially came with. So where are people ordering sleeping bags from, and any recommendations? Looking for another about 15 degree bag and also a summer bag that packs smaller for some summer rides/dual sport rides on my XR. Previously I would have gone to REI I But they have started putting too much effort into closing access and restricting off highway travel. Thanks for any help.
NavyNuke
Never looked. Into a vapor barrier, I do use a silk liner and foam sleeping pad though.
Administrators Eric Hall Posted March 9, 2017 Administrators My Rides (3) Report Share Posted March 9, 2017 I had an REI bag I sold. I have a Big Agnes Lost Ranger bag (15f) that is good but they're also on the naughty list. Tolga has one that is 15 degrees and compresses very small but it's from Sea to Summit, also on the naughty list.

rider_marc Posted April 26, 2018 My Ride Report Share Posted April 26, 2018 I have used an REI bivy sack from REI and a fleece sleeping bag. Oh, and a self-inflating mattress pad inside the bivy. It's always rolled up tight. Great for warmer nights, but below 40 degrees, I'm adding clothing!
MtnRider
I've got three Western Mountaineering 15, 25 and 45 degree. The 15 packs into a S compression stuff sack so rather small and the 25 into an XS bag. These are also semi-rectangular bags so a bit more room for braod kids like myself. http://www.westernmountaineering.com/sleeping-bags/microfiber-series/ponderosa-mf/ http://www.westernmountaineering.com/sleeping-bags/extremelite-series/terralite/ http://www.westernmountaineering.com/sleeping-bags/extremelite-series/mitylite/ I completely agree about ensuring you have a good insulated pad, I have a Sea to Summit pad that packs super small but just wasn't warm enough or thick enough for me. It's a great pad just not one I believe I will use again. http://www.seatosummitusa.com/product/?item=Comfort+Plus+Mat&o1=0&o2=0&o3=
