Administrators Bryan Bosch Posted August 3, 2016 Administrators My Ride Report Share Posted August 3, 2016 Man, this guy wasn't doing anything wrong and paid the price! We all love what we do, but need eyes in the back's or our heads (or more!). Be safe my brothers, life is precious! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fuZVodb6auQ
Administrators Eric Hall Posted August 3, 2016 Administrators My Rides (3) Report Share Posted August 3, 2016 Looks like he got sideswiped by that white car which put in in the path of the other one head-on. That's why I ride the street as little as I have to. I didn't but a motorcycle to ride it on the street, that is for sure.
Administrators Bryan Bosch Posted August 3, 2016 Author Administrators My Ride Report Share Posted August 3, 2016 Me too... Roads are just to get to the good stuff! Unfortunately, we encounter the distracted & careless along the way. I either ride waaaaay out front or behind. Not that this guy was tailgating, but I don't even follow that closely in traffic. He was hidden for just enough time for that Beetle to miss him. RIP.
Barakaiki
Is it just me or does anyone else not watch Motorcycle Accident video? I'm not the superstitious type, and don't shy away from seeing other types of unfortunate video, but something about watching motorcycle accidents...
PeteMoto Posted August 21, 2016 My Rides (2) Report Share Posted August 21, 2016 I'm always cognizant of where I'm at within traffic. I always put myself in a position to be most visible. If I feel threatened by the actions of drivers around me I have no problem pulling off the road. I try to avoid making left hand turns across traffic, instead I'll go to the next intersection and turn around and double back so I'm making a right turn instead. That's right, far enough ahead or behind is a good strategy.

Ditto on the roads are just to get to the good stuff, I actually rode a lot more miles and sped more than I care to admit on the old VStrom. Now that I'm dialed off-road I'm perfectly content riding slow on the roads and hardly ever pass anymore. My aggression is taken out in the woods, where it should be!!
