BMW R1200 GS Adventure LC (2014)
CategoryLast UpdatedReviewI love how I can see everything on this GPS. Tire pressure, engine temp, ambient temp, MPG, Range est... etc Perfect touch to a already perfect bike
ReviewI should have purchased this product sooner! I regularly ride on overgrown single track trails with branches bouncing off my headlight. The frame is very solid, four bolts total, and a removable thick piece of polycarbonate. I can see this product stop a good sized piece of roost and not cause any damage. Very well designed, everything fit in perfectly! Installation time took about 10 - 15 minutes, and only 4 screw had to be removed to fit in the frame pieces.
CategoryLast UpdatedReviewGreat high quality product! AltRider really takes their machining work seriously. Purchased this side stand enlarger the other day and it goes on easy, 1 -2 minute install. It's design fits the rugged look of the bike perfectly!
CategoryLast UpdatedReviewJust installed these bags yesterday. Haven't had the opportunity to try them out. Just by looking at the material they seem great!
CategoryLast UpdatedReviewWhat I purchased.
Excel 19 x 2.50, 17 x 4.25 (Anodized Black). Super Lite Hubs (Anodized Black). 7-175ga stainless steel spokes Super Laced. Sealed Tubeless with TPMs Sensors.
Rock solid wheels! I've used these for the last three big adventure rides and they've held up phenomenally. I can feel a significant difference in stability and suspension off-road. With the thinner tire my off camber turns and leans have improved greatly, the stock setup I'd regularly encounter a situation where my front tire dived or washed out in a angled turn. This was in sand, dirt, and mud. With the thinner front tire I rarely have this problem now. My confidence in the strength of this wheels is much more than stock tubeless setup, as I ride over rocks I don't have that sensation of my wheel bending when I hit every little thing. There's a better audible sound that doesn't make me cringe like the stock wheels would.
My first ride I managed to hit a sharp rock and blew my brand new Mitas E-09. Tire was trashed to include the sidewall. Thankfully there wasn't a scratch on my Woody's front Wheel. Remarkable!
I've noticed a decrease in stability when cornering on-road. Not by much but its noticeable. I run 20 psi all the time so this is probably a contributing factor.
I'll probably be ordering at 21' front tire soon!
CategoryLast UpdatedReviewWith any aftermarket windshield on the LC GS there needs to be some modification. This product looks up to the task to keep the plastic bracket from snapping.
CategoryLast UpdatedReviewI love these mirrors! Super easy to adjust and move out of the way when off-road.
Bought these for my new Akrapovic's headers. I wanted to prevent any dents from stray rocks coming off my front tire. My OEM headers were covered in good sized dings.
When installing, its easy to scratch the finish off the head pipes. The edges on the stainless steel guards are sharp!
Wish they came in a black color.
SW-Motech Adjustable Folding Gear Shift Lever BMW R1200GS / Adventure$140.00CategoryLast UpdatedReviewAfter bending my factory shifter I looked elsewhere for something more versatile. The SW-Motech adjustable shifter was the only reasonable replacement I could find. Good amount of adjustablity and comfort compared to OEM, but I'm skeptical of its strength. We'll see how it holds up over time. Giving it 4 out of 5 because it doesn't have rubber around the horizontal piece.
After a very dry and dusty summer season, I've went through three OE paper filters. Very few options available for the new water cooled motors. This kits looks to be by far the best choice for anyone that takes their bike off-road! Don't waste your time with K&N.
I recommend not buying this kit from Touratech, they have it priced at $95.00 plus shipping.
Here's a link to UNI's official store where you can buy it straight from Australia. $60.00 plus shipping. http://www.uniflow.com.au/contents/en-us/d57_newreleases.html#p5809
Specially modified to fit the 21'' front wheel
This thing made a night and day difference in how my bike feels. From factory BMW programs these bikes a little lean, so when you add a free flowing air filter and catless exhaust system your AF mixture is all off. This device is easy to install and easy to use. I honestly can feel huge difference! Idles better, better low end, no longer pops on decel. Works on both oil heads and water heads. Plugs straight into the O2s and negative battery terminal.
The ultimate protection for the R1200GS and Adventure! Strongest design with the largest diameter tubing. Best coverage of cylinder head protection.
Well engineered component that allows the LC Adventure model to use the OEM upper crash with the aftermarket Altrider crash bars. An amazing idea that was executed very well.
Solid mounting surface on either the rear pillion rack or flat without the rack. RotoPax holes and lots places to put tie downs. Good quality product
These radiator guards are the best on the market for the LC 1200. They were designed to use the original hardware and a clever clip to hold it down on top.
Super easy to install. Extra layer of security and peace of mind when you're out in the woods.
Haven't installed this pipe yet. I went with Mivv because of its light weight design. Stock pipe is 11.0 Pounds, Akrapovic is 9.5 Pounds, Mivv Suono is 5.5 Pounds. This baffle is removable, huge plus for me. More to follow.
