  1. I was at the KTM Rally a few weeks ago and snapped a pic of a new set of tires they are releasing for distribution soon, the Motoz "Tractionator Adventure" series (70/30; tubeless). This one pic alone got a reach of something like 17,000 on Facebook! I'm happy to announce that I'll be testing a set of these shortly on the XLADV project 990. I've seen their Tractionator Desert H/T tire and it is IMPRESSIVE! These are 100% natural rubber tires and are built to LAST longer and keep their grip even when worn down. Motoz is pronounced "moat-oz" with the "oz" referring to Australia, where the company is located. The tires are manufactured in Thailand, which is the #1 supplier of natural rubber. Got news today that Motoz has yet another new adventure tire they are releasing Spring '16 and can be seen next week at AIMExpo, booth #613. All I've been told is that it's a 50/50 tire and is also tubeless (can also take a tube if you like); also that 17" rears will also be available in 2016. Motoz is being distributed here in the US by Pacific Powersports of Temecula, CA. Behold, the "Adventure GPS" Which of these tires would you be most likely to try and for what type of riding?

  2. I seem to remember another moto friend saying he hit a turkey but I can't recall who now. Glad you are okay! As for the bulb, did you check your blinker fluid? It might be low

  4. This ride didn't quite work out the way we planned, but we had a hell of a ride anyway. We traveled in 8 states – in order of travel: California, Nevada, Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Wyoming, and Utah. We visited Hell's Canyon, the St. Joe River Scenic Byway, the Big Hole Battlefield, the ghost town of Bannack, Montana, Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Tetons, The Golden Spike National Historic Site, and we rode the old transcontinental rail bed west of Promontory Point. All together we rode about 150 miles of dirt roads in spite of being blocked from the Magruder Corridor and the Lolo Motorway by forest fires in Idaho. CLICK HERE to read my ride report.

  5. Too bad those adv tires aren't avaliable now, as I'll be purchasing a set of 50/50 tires in the next month or so for my trip to mexico at the end of the year, by the time I get back I'll need a new set and they should be available.

  7. The 50/50 tire looks promising for a long trip that has mostly highway miles. I would like to try the aggressive ones on my GSA.

  8. Weirdest thing, it works now. Off and on, but it works. I think maybe it's the connection. There wasn't any connection grease when I took it out, so maybe it's a little loose. Going to triumph tomorrow to get a key made, ill ask them then. So on a different note, went for an awesome ride today since the weather finally broke. Took a nice 3 1/2 hrs ride down to Jamestown near the James river, via some awesome winding roads. Along the way I hit a .........wait for it...............Turkey!!!! That's right, a freakin Turkey, and it was huge! I saw it on the side of the road coming around a turn, probably scared it. It started taking off, and I'm like "Noooo, don't doit you stupid bird!" All I could do was stuck my head and shrug my shoulders and wait for the impact. It hit my r shoulder on its chest and belly. Solid bird I wobbled a little and kept going. Both of us happy that was all that happened. I was thanking the Lord many times after that little encounter. A Turkey, really!? Anyone else hit some kind of animal on their bike?
