  1. KTM 1190 Adventure (2015)

Some might say "baby" of the ktm adventure bikes but to be honest it does absolutely everything I want it to. Plenty of trick bits added and it's my go to bike for all day riding. The power is noticeably different to the 1190 but up to 6.5k revs it's put out the same BHP so doesn't bother me at all. Suspension... Yes it has some and that's about it. Might be my next upgrade but undecided at the moment as I don't keep my bikes long. Still happy with this one tho.

  3. Yamaha Super Tenere (2013) Updated

Definitely a good bike, no doubt.
    Although...
I have to admit I'm not really the biggest fan of the parallel-twin engine.
It has power and torque, sure, but I don't like the "curve". It's a tad too linear.
Another thing I don't like about the S10, it's the...tank. Rather, the size of it. 23liters aren't really a lot, in my opinion, for ADVing or even for simply touring.
FINALLY (I promise) I feel like the suspension are a tad...lacking. I can't seem to find a proper setting: a couple weeks ago I was touring in Sardinia (Island on the left of Italy), and even with the suspensions stiffened up, the bike was feeling "wobbly".

Aside from those, I have no other complaints. LOL

  6. BMW F800 GS Adventure (2014) Updated

I had a '13 GSA 1200. It was too big for me.
    "Pick a standard 1200, no?"
No, because I love the rugged bulkyness of the Adventure models.

So...here's the new toy! A 2013 F800GSA, "sand beige" color, with only 16k KMs, and full optional: Full aluminium panniers set with BMW internal bags for the side panniers, heated grips, ESA, ABS/ASC, on-board computer, 2 riding modes (Road/Enduro), LED foglights, LED blinkers, and maybe even something else.
Plus, the previous owner installed a couple toys that I would've installed anyway: crash bars for the "tank" (by GIVI), a bigger skidplate (GIVI again), and the expanded sidestand base (no idea who made it).

After a full day of riding, I can say I'm VERY satisfied. Fuel consumption is ridicolously low, the bike's very comfortable (solo and with pillion), and most importantly, it's FIFTY KILOGRAMS lighter than both my previous GSA1200 and my ex-SuperTenere.

I've only found 3 things I don't like on this bike:
1- Sound. Easily fixable with a proper exhaust.
2- Handguards. They leave half my hand exposed to air/cold.
3- Windscreen. It's big, but it leaves my head exposed.

Again, I can easily fix all these "problems".

Can't wait to ride more! :)

  7. Triumph Tiger 800 XRx (2015)

Compared to others in it's class it was the most comfortable for me. I adore the 3 cylinder engine.

  11. BMW R1200 GS Adventure (2015) Updated

    Best motorcycle I've owned.
Only drawback I've found is too many electronic gizmos.  Don't get me wrong, the electronics are WONDERFUL but when they fail, you aren't left with many onsite repair options.

  13. BMW R1200 GS Adventure (2015)

I lost my Goldwing in the Santa Rosa Fires and this is my replacement.  I bought it used from a member here and I am very happy!  There is something about the Boxter engine that just feels right.  I do still look at the new Goldwing and the K1600 BMW, and the Triumph.  Perhaps I need all of them?

  14. Suzuki V-Strom 1000 Adventure (2014)

Very fun bike - lots of torque - and a super value at around 12K. It’s definitly not a dirt bike but it’s very capable off road.  It’s been great for me - mine is nearly all stock, including the seat! Ergonomics improved with 1/1 risers and lowered foot pegs.

  20. Honda XL600V Transalp (1989)

Bought it new in '89, I doubt I will ever sell it.  One of the smoothest and quietest v-twin motors I've ever ridden.  For me it needs more fuel capacity and fit a tall person better, a bit cramped.

  22. Triumph Tiger 800 XC (2014)

Definitely my favorite bike I've ever owned. Its an absolute blast to ride. Comfortable in the street and its never made me overly nervous off-road. It commutes well, it camps well, it slays twisties and it looks sexy doing it all. Its a bad mama-jama.

  23. BMW R1200 GS LC (2015)

I know that there are no such things as the perfect motorcycle for everything but I believe that BMW was getting close with the 2017 Rallye.  This bike is also referred to by those in the know as "the Frankenbike" because of the rider, Geoff Ballard who was responsible for putting it together and sending the plan to BMW.  The Rallye is powered by the time-tested 1170cc ‘Wasserboxer’ air/liquid-cooled flat-twin DOHC powerplant that pumps out 125hp and drives through a six-speed gearbox and shaft drive single-sided swingarm (https://adbmag.com.au/editorial/adv-test-1000cc-adventure-bike-shootout/).  The bike is further improved with the addition of Woody's Superlite and Superlaced Dakar wheels, Black Dog Cycle Works adventure pegs, Cyclops lighting, the AltRider lower bars and skid plate, and the MachineArtMoto cylinder head guards.
